EINE UNGEWÖHNLICHE EULE

Mit Federn aus Rodanger Stahlschienenprofilen, so präsentiert sich die von der Künstlerin Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini entworfene 7 Meter hohe Eule, welche ihren Platz neben der Rodanger Sporthalle gefunden hat.

Die für die Skulptur verarbeiteten Stahlprofile sind eine Hommage an die hiesige Stahlindustrie, die der ganzen Region Wohlstand brachte. Die Kraft des Materials strahlt die Anerkennung für Vergangenes aber auch die Vorsicht im Umgang mit zukünftigen Herausforderungen aus. Ein im Brustbereich angebrachtes „goldenes“ Ei soll dabei günstige Voraussetzungen schaffen.

UN HIBOU INHABITUEL

La chouette de 7 mètres de haut, avec ses plumes en profilés d’acier en provenance de l’usine de Rodange, a été conçue par l’artiste Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini et a trouvé sa place à côté du Hall omnisport de Rodange.

Le matériau utilisé pour la sculpture est un hommage à l’industrie sidérurgique luxembourgeoise qui a apporté la prospérité à toute la région. La force du matériau reflète la reconnaissance du passé, mais aussi la prudence face aux défis futurs. Un œuf « doré » placé au niveau de la poitrine doit créer des conditions favorables à cet égard.

AN UNUSUAL OWL

The 7-metre high owl, with its feathers made of sectional steel from Rodange, was created by artist Bettina Scholl-Sabbatini and has found its place next to the sports hall in Rodange.

The material used for the sculpture is a tribute to the local steel industry which has brought prosperity to the entire region. The strength of the material reflects the recognition of the past, but also caution in the face of future challenges. A «golden» egg placed at chest level is supposed to create favorable conditions in this respect.
